    Radhika Apte born on 7 September 1985 in Pune, Maharashtra. She was born and brought up in Pune, Maharashtra, India. She is the daughter of Pune’s leading neurosurgeon and chairman of Sahyadri Hospital, Dr. Charudutt Apte, who is a Marathi. Her height is 5’ 3” (1.6m). She has completed her graduation from Fergusson College, Pune in Economics and Mathematics.

She has taken Kathak training for eight years. After doing some films she moved to London for studying contemporary dance at London’s Trinity Laban Conservatoire Of Music And Dance for a year.

She is an Indian actress who acted in different language films like  HindiTamilTeluguMalayalamBengali, and Marathi-language films. She is married to London-based musician Benedict Taylor since 2013.

In the early stage of career, she used to work in theatre and then she made her debut with Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! In 2005 just for fun when she was in college. Actor Rahul Bose referred her name to director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury in the year 2009 and Radhika Apte made her Bengali debut in a social drama Antaheen alongside Aparna Sen, Rahul Bose and Sharmila Tagore, in the year 2009 she made her Marathi film debut with a romantic film Samaantar, She also done some awesome acting in Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakta Charitra and its sequel. And in the year 2015, she got praised for her role in Bollywood films like Badlapur, Hunterrr, the biography Manjhi – The Mountain Man. And in the next year that is 2016, she got acclaimed as one of the finest actresses of India for her role in Phobia and Parched.

She also acted in some all-time great films like Marathi crime thriller Lai Bhaari in 2014, Tamil drama Kabali in 2016 and Hindi biographical film Pad Man. She also acted in a film called Ha Bharat Majha(2012), which is inspired by Anna Hazare’s movement which was shot in 14 days. In the year 2012, she also acted in two films, Tukaram in Marathi and Dhoni in Tamil. For which she also was nominated for SIIMA Award for Best Actress in Supporting Role. She also acted in 4 different languages in 2014 which are Postcard in Marathi, Pendulum in Bengali, Legend in Telugu, Vetri Selvan in Tamil, after this she acted in a film called Lai Bhaari, which is a commercial blockbuster and the highest grossing Marathi film of all time.

Radhika Apte is referred to as Bollywood’s go-to-girl and the new constant in Indian cinema. HuffPost India wrote, “Radhika Apte is on her way to stardom, whether she likes it or not”. She also acted in Ketan Mehta’s critically acclaimed biographical film Manjhi – The Mountain Man, which was based on Dashrath Manjhi and Kaun Kitne Pani Mein, which is a satire on water scarcity. Her next film was Tamil gangster-drama Kabali, which was a major commercial success.

One of her biggest films came in 2018, which is Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor starer Pad Man directed by R. Balki. It is inspired by Arunachalam Muruganantham from Tamilnadu, who campaigned for menstrual hygiene in rural India. Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV wrote, “Radhika Apte is, as always, a scene-stealer. She contributes majorly to ensuring that the exchanges between the protagonist and his wife do not veer into corniness.”

Radhika Apte is actively involved with theatre and has been part of several stage plays, mostly in Marathi language. She is associated with Mohit’s theatre troupe ‘Aasakta’ in her hometown. She is also planning to do an English play in London. She also said that she prefers to work in experimental theatres. She has also acted in many short films like Darmiyan, Vakratunda Swaha, which was filmed by Ashish Avikunthak over a period of 12 years. She has acted in Anurag Kashyap‘s short film on eve teasing. Radhika Apte once said that it is more freedom in working and there is no censorship in digital space.

Her marriage is said to be held in March 2013 with Benedict Taylor. She met him for the first time in 2011 in London when she was in London to learn contemporary. A friend of Radhika Apte director Sarang Sathaye informed in October 2012 that the two had been living together for a long time and that a registered marriage took place a month before the official ceremony. She also spoke out about sexual harassment in the industry through the #MeToo campaign. She also said she once slapped one big South Indian star for tickling her feet.

Radhika Apte has a home in Mumbai. She said her husband is better at “imagining what the house could be turned into, and I’m better at turning it into that thing.” She ha sin her house her grandmother’s chair to the first one she got custom-made from her own money. Radhika Apte said “A very important thing for me is to have light in the house when I wake up.

So, I look for a house where there will be enough light.” She also painted her doors with different colors. When she was asked about the idea she replied “A teacher had fans painted different colors, and I really liked it. I too want to do that, but don’t know what colors to pick, so in the meantime, I painted all the doors a different color. If you ask me to use the bathroom, it’ll be “the purple door”. So, it is a borrowed idea that way”.
